Bharat Forge Rolls-Royce Expands Partnership for Pearl 10x Engine Blades

Rolls-Royce and Bharat Forge have expanded their strategic partnership, with Bharat Forge set to manufacture fan blades for Rolls-Royce’s Pearl 10x engines, in addition to the Pearl 700. This deepens Rolls-Royce’s commitment to Indian manufacturing and supports its goal to double sourcing from India by 2030. The agreement acknowledges Bharat Forge as a trusted global supplier of precision aerospace components.

Expanded Aerospace Partnership

Bharat Forge and Rolls-Royce have solidified their collaboration, with a new agreement focusing on the manufacturing and supply of fan blades for Rolls-Royce’s Pearl 700 and Pearl 10x engines. This announcement was made on October 16, 2025.

Strategic Implications

This partnership underscores Rolls-Royce’s dedication to building in-country capabilities and nurturing strategic local partnerships. It aims to double its supply chain sourcing from India by 2030. The agreement was formalized at Rolls-Royce’s Dahlewitz facility near Berlin.

Sashi Mukundan, Executive Vice President – Transformation, Rolls-Royce India, stated that this reflects a commitment to developing world-class manufacturing capabilities in India. Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, Ltd., noted the shared commitment to engineering excellence and long-term collaboration.

Pearl Engine Program

Bharat Forge began collaborating with Rolls-Royce in 2020, initially focusing on parts for the Pearl 700 program. By 2024, Bharat Forge delivered its first zero-defect fan blade. The expanded agreement now encompasses the Pearl 10x engine.

Pearl 10X Engine Details

The Pearl 10X engine is the most powerful member of the Pearl engine family, used in long-range business jets. It uses the Advance2 engine core combined with a high-performance low-pressure system, resulting in a thrust of more than 18,000lb.

Rolls-Royce’s Presence in India

Rolls-Royce has a 90-year legacy in India, with over 1400 Rolls-Royce engines powering platforms of the Indian Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Army. The company’s ecosystem includes over 4000 people, with 2800 engineers contributing to global development programs.
