Bharat Forge Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Advanced Landing Gear Machining Facility with Liebherr in Pune

Bharat Forge Ltd. (BFL) and Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS have inaugurated a new, state-of-the-art Landing Gear Components Machining Facility in Mundhwa, Pune. This collaboration positions BFL as one of the first Indian companies to operate OEM-approved landing gear component machining capabilities at scale. The facility focuses on high-precision components, significantly advancing India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem and bolstering the global supply chain integration for both companies.

Strategic Partnership for Aerospace Manufacturing

On March 11, 2026, the aerospace division of Bharat Forge Ltd. (BFL), in collaboration with Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS, officially opened an advanced Landing Gear Components Machining Facility located in Mundhwa, Pune, India. This milestone represents a significant step in establishing BFL as a leading global supplier for high-precision aerospace components.

The new facility integrates advanced machining centers specifically designed for high-precision landing-gear components. This capability elevates Bharat Forge’s position within the global aerospace supply chain, aligning with India’s goal to become a hub for world-class aerospace solutions.

The inauguration was marked by the presence of senior executives from both organizations. Mr. Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman & Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, highlighted that the facility is a testament to BFL’s ability to add substantial value in the aerospace sector, serving global requirements through strategic partnership.

Bharat Forge’s Expanded Aerospace Portfolio

With this addition, Bharat Forge now possesses a full-stack aerospace manufacturing portfolio. This includes capabilities across aero-engine components, airframe structures, and landing-gear sub-systems for both civil and military aviation. The company is also expanding its capabilities by setting up an advanced aerospace ring-mill in India to produce high-value forged rings for aero-engine programs.
