Axis Bank Appoints New Chief Risk Officer, Anand Viswanathan

Axis Bank has announced the appointment of Anand Viswanathan as the new Chief Risk Officer (CRO), effective January 1, 2026. He will replace Amit Talgeri, who is stepping down after completing his second term. Viswanathan, currently Head of Market & Liquidity Risk & ERM & Model Risk at Axis Bank, brings over two decades of experience in risk management and financial markets to the role.

Leadership Transition in Risk Management

Axis Bank is set to welcome Anand Viswanathan as its new Chief Risk Officer (CRO), marking a key change in the bank’s senior management. The appointment is scheduled for January 1, 2026, initiating a three-year term that extends until December 31, 2028.

Anand Viswanathan’s Appointment

Anand Viswanathan will take over as CRO from January 1, 2026 until December 31, 2028. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and also holds certifications as a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, and FRM from the Global Association of Risk Professionals. His expertise includes markets, analytics, and risk management.

Amit Talgeri’s Departure

Amit Talgeri will be stepping down from his position as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) after the completion of his 2nd term, effective December 31, 2025. He will be relieved from the services of the Bank effective January 18, 2026.
