Axis Bank Board Approves Re-Appointment of Whole-Time Director and Management Changes

Axis Bank’s Board has approved the re-appointment of Subrat Mohanty as Whole-Time Director for three years, effective August 17, 2026, subject to RBI approval. Sudipto Nag will succeed Prashant Joshi as Chief Credit Officer from July 1, 2026, upon Joshi’s retirement. This announcement details leadership continuity and changes in senior management.

Re-Appointment of Whole-Time Director

Subrat Mohanty has been re-appointed as Whole-Time Director (designated as Executive Director) for a further term of three years, starting from August 17, 2026, and lasting until August 16, 2029. This is subject to the approval of the Reserve Bank of India and the bank’s members.

Senior Management Changes

Prashant Joshi, the current Chief Credit Officer, will retire effective the close of business on June 30, 2026.

Sudipto Nag has been appointed as the new Chief Credit Officer, effective July 1, 2026. Consequently, he will be part of the senior management team.

Sudipto Nag brings expertise in credit policy design, portfolio risk management, debt servicing, governance, and enterprise-wide credit risk management. He currently oversees credit portfolio strategy and performance across retail, SME, and rural lending.
