Cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai each feature 100+ LECCS chargers, with Bengaluru hosting over 240 chargers.
Expanded Charging Network
Ather Energy announced on January 8, 2026, that Ather riders now have access to more than 5000+ public fast chargers featuring the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS) connector. This expansive network spans across 395+ cities throughout India.
Network Breakdown
The charging network comprises 3,675+ fast chargers directly operated by Ather Energy, complemented by an additional 1400+ chargers through various partner networks. This strategic distribution ensures convenient access to charging infrastructure for Ather riders across the country.
Charging Availability by City
Several major cities now offer extensive charging infrastructure. Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai each now boasts over 100+ LECCS chargers. Bengaluru leads with over 240 charging points, ensuring riders in these urban centers can easily access charging facilities. States such as Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Gujarat lead in public charger availability.
International Expansion
Ather has also extended its charging network internationally, with 30+ fast chargers now operational in Nepal and Sri Lanka, expanding the charging footprint beyond India’s borders.
LECCS Connector Standard
In October 2023, the LECCS connector received BIS approval and was published as Indian Standard IS17017 (Part2/Sec7):2023 & IS17017 – Part31:2024 in August 2023 and February 2024 respectively. The LECCS standard is now adopted by multiple partners including OEMs and charge point operators.
