Afcons Leadership Transition in Oil & Gas Business Unit

Afcons Infrastructure Limited has announced a leadership transition within its Oil & Gas Business Unit. Ashwini Kumar Venkatesh will step down from his role as Business Unit Head, effective February 6, 2026. Sandeep Badhe has been elevated to the position of Business Unit Head – Oil and Gas, also effective February 6, 2026. He will assume overall responsibility for the Business Unit.

Leadership Changes

Ashwini Kumar Venkatesh has expressed his intention to step down from his role as Business Unit Head for the Oil & Gas division to facilitate a smooth leadership transition. He will retire from his functional role on February 6, 2026. After this date, he will no longer be part of the Senior Management Personnel but will continue with the company as a consultant.

New Appointment

Effective February 6, 2026, Sandeep Badhe, previously Executive Vice President, has been appointed as the new Business Unit Head – Oil and Gas. This decision was approved by the Board of Directors based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Sandeep Badhe’s Profile

Mr. Badhe has over 36 years of experience in executing large EPC projects in both offshore and onshore domains, both in India and internationally. His experience encompasses engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations. Before Afcons, he held leadership positions at Larsen & Toubro Hydrocarbon Engineering.

Responsibilities

In his new role, Mr. Sandeep Badhe will assume overall responsibility for the Business Unit, including operations, P&L management, business development, and talent development. He is currently the Project Director for ONGC’s KG-DWN-98/2 project and Project Sponsor for the HRRL Crude Oil Tanking Project at Mundra.
