ACME Solar Holdings Commissions Additional 155 MW / 470 MWh Battery Energy Storage Projects in Rajasthan

ACME Solar Holdings has announced the commissioning of an additional 155 MW / 470.25 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects via its subsidiaries in Rajasthan, announced on March 24, 2026. This milestone raises the company’s total commissioned BESS capacity to 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh, supporting grid reliability. These merchant projects will generate revenue by arbitrating price differences between peak and non-peak hours.

New BESS Commissioning in Rajasthan

ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has successfully commissioned additional 155 MW / 470.25 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity through its various subsidiaries located in Rajasthan. This achievement, announced on March 24, 2026, marks a significant step in the company’s renewable energy deployment strategy.

With this recent addition, ACME Solar’s total commissioned BESS capacity now stands at 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh. This is part of the company’s larger planned BESS capacity target of 835 MW / 3,114.64 MWh across its Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).

Operational Strategy and Grid Enhancement

The newly commissioned BESS units are strategically integrated with existing operational Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) in Rajasthan. These facilities will operate on a merchant basis, enabling the company to earn additional revenue streams by capitalizing on the price differential between peak demand charging and non-peak demand discharge periods.

The primary function of these BESS projects is to enhance grid reliability and optimize power utilization. By charging during low-demand periods and discharging during peak hours, the systems play a critical role in balancing energy supply and demand, thereby improving overall grid stability.

ACME Solar’s Broader Portfolio Strength

ACME Solar Holdings Limited is highlighted as a leading integrated renewable energy player. The company currently manages a diversified portfolio totaling 8,071 MW, encompassing solar, wind, storage, FDRE, and hybrid solutions.

Key capacity figures include:

  • Operational contracted capacity: 2,978 MW and approximately ~1.0 GWh of BESS capacity.
  • Under construction contracted capacity: 5,093 MW, which includes an estimated ~16 GWh of BESS installation.
  • Under construction PPA signed portfolio: 3,292 MW.

The firm maintains an in-house EPC and O&M division, allowing it to manage end-to-end development and operations, ensuring projects are delivered in a time- and cost-effective manner while maintaining industry-leading Customer Utility Factor (CUF) and operating margins.
