Adani Cement and Coolbrook are partnering to deploy Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Heater™ technology at Adani Cement’s Boyareddypalli plant in Andhra Pradesh. This deployment marks a significant step towards decarbonizing cement production and is expected to reduce ~60,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, with the potential for a 10x increase. The RDH™ system will be powered by Adani Cement’s renewable energy portfolio.
Decarbonization Initiative
Adani Cement and Coolbrook have announced a delivery agreement to commercially deploy Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) technology at Adani Cement’s Boyareddypalli Integrated Cement Plant in Andhra Pradesh, India. This will be the world’s first commercial deployment of this technology in the cement industry.
RotoDynamic Heater (RDH™) Technology
The RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) technology will decarbonize the calcination phase of cement production. It will enable higher substitution of fossil fuels with sustainable alternatives, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
Emissions Reduction and Renewable Energy
The commercial deployment is expected to reduce ~60,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually and with potential for a 10x increase in due course. The RDH™ system will be powered entirely by Adani Cement’s large-scale renewable energy portfolio, ensuring carbon emission-free industrial heat generation. This initiative aligns with Adani Cement’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Strategic Alignment and Future Goals
This partnership also supports Adani Cement’s target to increase Alternative Fuel and Resource (AFR) usage to 30% and achieve a 60% green power share by FY28. Both companies plan to launch at least five additional projects within the next two years.
