ABB India has announced a leadership transition in its MOTR division. Mr. Moonish Ghuge’s fixed-term contract has been foreclosed, with his duties ceasing immediately as of January 19, 2026. To ensure continuity, Mr. Roger Buchmann has been appointed as the Ad-Interim head for the MOTR division until a permanent successor is identified.
Leadership Restructuring
ABB India has announced a change in leadership for the Local Division President – MOTR. Mr. Moonish Ghuge, who served as the Local Division President – MOTR, has had his fixed-term contract foreclosed, effective January 19, 2026.
Ad-Interim Appointment
To maintain leadership continuity, Mr. Roger Buchmann, the Global Product Line Manager for Traction packages, has been appointed as the Ad-Interim head of the MOTR division, starting January 19, 2026. The appointment will remain in effect until a suitable successor is identified and officially appointed by ABB India.
Roger Buchmann’s Profile
Mr. Buchmann has over 27 years of experience in the railway industry, having spent his career managing international teams. He has held positions such as Head of Sales for Traction Converters and Operations Manager in Guangzhou, China. Mr. Buchmann holds master’s degrees in electrical engineering and economics from ETH Zürich. He currently serves as the Global Product Line Manager Rail OEM at ABB Switzerland Ltd since 2014.
