Appointment of Shareholder Director
Central Bank of India has officially announced the appointment of Shri Rajesh Ranjan as a Shareholder Director on its Board. This appointment is made in accordance with Section 9(3)(i) of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970.
Director Details
The appointment is effective from August 1, 2026, and Mr. Ranjan will hold the position for a term of three years, concluding on July 31, 2029. Shri Rajesh Ranjan is a retired IPS officer with a Master’s Degree in Arts (English Literature).
Professional Experience
Mr. Ranjan possesses over 36 years of experience across various domains including Law, Human Resources, Fraud Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Vigilance Administration, Compliance, and Asset Liability Management (ALM)/Trade Finance (TF). He has previously served in public sector undertakings and central armed police forces. His recent roles include serving as an Independent Director on the Board of DME Development Limited and previously as a Director for IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company Ltd and Chief Vigilance Officer of GAIL India Ltd.

The bank confirms that Shri Rajesh Ranjan is not related to any existing Directors or Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) of the bank. Furthermore, in line with SEBI regulations, it is confirmed that he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any orders from SEBI or any other authority.
