SBI: Senior Management Changes Effective August 2026

State Bank of India (SBI) has announced key changes in its senior management. Two Deputy Managing Directors are superannuating on July 31, 2026. Subsequently, new responsibilities will be assigned, with Shri Satyendra Kumar Singh taking over as Deputy Managing Director & Chief Credit Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer. Additionally, Shri Varinder Khanna will assume the role of Deputy Managing Director (CCG-II) Commercial Client Group. Shri Sunil Ramgopal Agrawal is set to become the new Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) from August 1, 2026.

State Bank of India (SBI) has announced significant upcoming changes in its senior management team, effective from August 1, 2026. In line with the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the bank informed stakeholders about the superannuation of two key Deputy Managing Directors on July 31, 2026. These departures mark a transition in leadership roles within the organization.

New Appointments and Responsibilities

Following the superannuation, new senior executive roles have been defined. Shri Satyendra Kumar Singh has been entrusted with the crucial responsibilities of Deputy Managing Director & Chief Credit Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer. Concurrently, Shri Varinder Khanna will take on the role of Deputy Managing Director (CCG-II) for the Commercial Client Group. These appointments underscore the bank’s focus on strategic credit management and client relationship enhancement.

Chief Financial Officer Transition

Further reinforcing the leadership changes, Shri Sunil Ramgopal Agrawal will assume the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP). This transition is scheduled to take place from August 1, 2026, succeeding the current arrangements. This appointment is a vital step in ensuring continuity and strategic financial leadership for the bank.
