Expertise in Cybersecurity and Governance
Mr. Periaswamy is a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience at the highest levels of India’s financial sector, specializing in technology and cybersecurity. He previously served as the Chief Information Security Officer and Chief General Manager (IT) at the Reserve Bank of India, where he played a key role in shaping national cybersecurity frameworks and modernizing critical infrastructure. His contributions also extended to directing IT infrastructure and national threat intelligence platforms at the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT).
Furthermore, Mr. Periaswamy has advised leading private sector banks on cybersecurity governance and policy, and served as a Consultant to the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub. He was also a Board Member of Indian Financial Technology and Allied Services (IFTAS) from 2019 to 2021. His extensive background is anticipated to bolster Karnataka Bank’s strategic initiatives in technology, regulation, and cybersecurity governance, thereby strengthening trust in financial systems.
