Exide Industries: Q1 FY27 Profit Jumps 27.1% on Strong Revenue Growth

Exide Industries has reported a strong start to FY27, with its first quarter (Q1 FY27) unaudited standalone financial results showing a 17.6% increase in revenue to Rs. 5,305 crore. Profit After Tax (PAT) saw a substantial growth of 27.1%, reaching Rs. 407 crore. The company highlighted broad-based growth across its key businesses and effective cost management strategies, leading to an expansion in EBITDA margin.

Exide Industries Limited has announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended 30 June 2026, showcasing strong performance across its operations. The company achieved standalone revenues of Rs. 5,305 crore, marking a significant 17.6% growth compared to the same period last year (Q1 FY26). This growth reflects increased demand and effective business strategies.

Profitability and Margin Expansion

The company’s profitability witnessed a considerable improvement, with Profit After Tax (PAT) growing by 27.1% to Rs. 407 crore for Q1 FY27. Earnings Per Share (EPS) also rose by the same margin to Rs. 4.79. The EBITDA margin expanded by 20 basis points year-on-year to 12.4%, demonstrating the company’s ability to manage input cost pressures through calibrated price adjustments and cost excellence initiatives.

Key Business Highlights

Exide attributed the strong performance to a broad-based growth momentum during Q1 FY27, with double-digit growth across all major businesses. The Automotive OEM business grew by over 25% year-on-year for the third consecutive quarter. The 2W/4W Replacement business also registered strong double-digit growth. Furthermore, the Inverters and Solar businesses grew by over 20% YoY, supported by seasonal demand. The company also noted the return of its Exports business to growth with a 20%+ YoY increase.

Strategic Investments and Future Outlook

The company highlighted its ongoing investment in the lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility through its subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL). The company infused Rs. 100 crore in July 2026, bringing the cumulative investment to Rs. 4,902 crore. EESL achieved critical project milestones, with 100% of equipment installed and utilities operationalized. Revenue contribution from this plant is expected in FY27. The management expressed confidence in the company’s direction and its foundation in the new energy business.

Consolidated Financials

The unaudited consolidated financial results also reflected growth, with revenue for Q1 FY27 at Rs. 5,555.25 crore, up from Rs. 4,739.37 crore in Q1 FY26. Consolidated PAT increased to Rs. 351.30 crore from Rs. 216.73 crore in the prior year period.
