Zen Technologies Unveils India’s First High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System

Zen Technologies has launched India’s first High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System (MPADS) on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. This indigenous, lightweight counter-UAS solution is designed for mountainous and remote terrains, featuring advanced RF detection, data fusion, and jamming capabilities. The system can detect drones up to 5 km and jam signals up to 3 km, enhancing frontline force protection.

Zen Technologies Launches Indigenous Anti-Drone System

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Zen Technologies Limited, a prominent Indian defence technology company, has unveiled its groundbreaking High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System (MPADS). This indigenous and lightweight counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (cUAS) is specifically engineered to safeguard troops operating in challenging mountainous and remote terrains. The launch signifies a major advancement in India’s defence capabilities and addresses the growing threat of drones in modern warfare, particularly in high-altitude battlefield environments.

Key Features and Capabilities

The MPADS is designed for rapid deployment in difficult terrains where conventional vehicle-mounted systems are not practical. Its key features include:

  • Advanced Detection: Detects drones up to 5 km through continuous wideband RF scanning across the 400 MHz to 6 GHz spectrum.
  • Effective Jamming: Provides omni-directional jamming up to 3 km, capable of disrupting drone command links and GNSS signals simultaneously.
  • Multi-Target Capability: Features multi-target and swarm detection, enabling forces to counter coordinated drone attacks effectively.
  • All-Weather Operation: Operates 24×7 in all-weather conditions, ensuring continuous protection.

At the core of the system lies Zen’s RF-Based Drone Detector (RFDD), which utilizes advanced Correlative Interferometry and Digital Beamforming techniques for accurate bearing determination of hostile drones. This is integrated with a Data Fusion & Command Centre (DFCC) that consolidates sensor inputs to provide a single tactical picture for operators. This allows for real-time monitoring of threat zones, classification of aerial threats, spectrum activity analysis, and rapid engagement decisions.

The increasing drone activity in high-altitude regions and contested border areas necessitates portable counter-drone capabilities for frontline force protection.
