Godrej Properties Limited has been issued a penalty of Rs. 10,00,000 by the Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (CGRERA). The penalty arises from alleged contravention of Section 3(1) of the RERA Act, 2016, concerning advertisements for the ‘Project – Greenvale Estate’ prior to obtaining RERA registration. The company stated the advertisements were circulated by third parties without their knowledge, and they have taken legal steps. The company has since obtained the project’s RERA registration and sees no material impact on its operations.

Penalty Imposed by Chhattisgarh RERA

Godrej Properties Limited announced on July 03, 2026, that it received a certified true copy of an order dated June 08, 2026, from the Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (CGRERA), Raipur. The authority has imposed a penalty of Rs. 10,00,000 (Rupees Ten Lakh only) on the company. This action is under Section 3(1) read with Section 59 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.

Details of Alleged Contravention

The penalty is related to the alleged contravention of Section 3(1) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. This contravention is reportedly associated with advertisements for ‘Project – Greenvale Estate’ that were published before the project obtained its RERA registration. Godrej Properties Limited has clarified that the advertisements in question were not issued or authorized by the Company. Instead, they were circulated by third parties without the Company’s knowledge or consent, allegedly misusing the ‘Godrej’ brand name.

Company’s Response and Project Status

Upon becoming aware of these instances, the Company states it acted diligently by initiating appropriate legal measures and undertaking takedown actions to prevent further misuse. Importantly, Godrej Properties Limited has obtained the registration certificate for the ‘Project – Greenvale Estate’ from CGRERA on June 25, 2026. The company is currently evaluating appropriate legal remedies against the said order. There is no anticipated material impact of this order on the financial, operational, or other activities of the Company.
