Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), a wholly-owned defence subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited, has launched its new MArG series of Mounted Artillery Guns at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, France. This advanced line of truck-mounted artillery is engineered for high mobility, rapid deployment, and cost-efficiency, providing modern land forces with a superior firepower solution.
MArG Series: Key Features and Configurations
The MArG series offers a versatile family of 4×4 mounted 155mm artillery systems, adaptable across three calibre configurations to meet diverse operational needs:
- MArG 39 (39 calibre): Optimized for mobility and tactical flexibility.
- MArG 45 (45 calibre): Balances range and firepower.
- MArG 52 (52 calibre): Provides extended-range, high-performance capability.
This common platform design ensures streamlined training and logistics, allowing armed forces to select the ideal configuration for their specific mission profiles, terrain, and operational environments. The series emphasizes superior manoeuvrability across varied terrains and is purpose-built for shoot-and-scoot operations, enhancing survivability against counter-battery fire.

Each MArG system delivers NATO-standard 155mm firepower, compatible with both standard and extended-range munitions, including precision-guided munitions (PGMs). The systems are designed for rapid transition from march-to-fire and feature a modern fire-control system for accurate targeting. Key advantages include air transportability, strategic mobility, and the ability to operate effectively in challenging environments like mountains and deserts.
