NTPC Limited Subsidiary Achieves Commercial Operation for 50 MW Solar Capacity

NTPC Limited announced that its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for a 50 MW solar capacity component. This is part of a larger 300 MW solar component within a 200 MW RE Round The Clock (RTC) project in Rajasthan. The COD is effective from June 14, 2026, bringing NTPC group’s total installed capacity to 90,857 MW.

NTPC Subsidiary Declares Commercial Operation for Solar Project

NTPC Limited has disclosed a significant operational milestone achieved by its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL). NGEL has successfully declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for an additional 50 MW of solar capacity. This capacity forms a part of a larger 300 MW solar component, which is itself integrated into a 200 MW Round The Clock (RTC) renewable energy project. The project is strategically located in Rajasthan.

Project Details and Impact

The declared 50 MW solar capacity brings the cumulative solar capacity from this component to 250 MW. The Commercial Operation Date (COD) is officially effective as of June 14, 2026. This advancement signifies a crucial step in the development of renewable energy infrastructure under the NTPC group.

NTPC Group Capacity Update

Following this declaration, NTPC Limited has provided an updated figure for its total installed capacity. The NTPC group’s installed capacity now stands at an impressive 90,857 MW. Furthermore, the group’s commercial capacity has reached 88,977 MW, underscoring the company’s substantial contribution to India’s energy sector.

NTPC Green Energy Limited’s Capacity

In a related disclosure, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) confirmed that the current commercial capacity of its group stands at 10,621.40 MW. With the recent addition, the total installed capacity for the NGEL Group will increase to 10,671.40 MW. This incremental capacity from the Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of NGEL’s joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, is now operational.
