He progressed through various vessel types, achieving the rank of Master in 2005. His shore-based career includes significant tenures in Fleet Personnel, Tanker Technical Department, and as Vetting-In-Charge. Capt. Kumar holds an Economics degree and an MBA (Operation) and is a Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) graduate from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. He also holds an LLB and recently earned a Master’s Degree in Maritime Affairs from WMU, where he was recognized as the best student in Shipping Management & Logistics. In his current capacity, he serves as DGM In-Charge of the Bulk and Tanker Division, with his additional responsibilities taking effect from June 1, 2026.
