Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (PFC) announced that Shri V. Packirisamy has officially taken charge as the Director (Commercial) of the company. This significant appointment is effective from June 2, 2026.

Extensive Industry Experience

Shri V. Packirisamy has been associated with PFC since January 1997 and possesses over 33 years of comprehensive experience in the power sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Tech in Management Systems from IIT Delhi. His career at PFC has spanned various critical areas, including credit appraisal, rating of power utilities, sector reforms, restructuring, and financial analysis of borrowers. He has also played a pivotal role in developing Operational & Financial Action Plans (OFAP) and has been instrumental in consultancy assignments related to the financial and commercial aspects of the power industry.

Strengthening PFC’s Framework

Shri Packirisamy’s contributions have been key in enhancing PFC’s institutional framework. He has been a driving force in expanding the organization’s operations and reinforcing its appraisal and risk management capabilities. His involvement has significantly contributed to the growth of PFC’s loan portfolio and the resolution of stressed assets. Furthermore, he has actively participated in formulating lending policies, developing financial analysis systems, establishing borrower rating mechanisms, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. He also spearheaded the IT transformation of PFC, boosting its overall IT capacity.
