Strategic Vision: AI-First and Embedded Finance

Mr. Vishal Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director, highlighted that FY ’26 was a pivotal year for the evolution of AvenuesAI, focusing on the convergence of payments infrastructure, merchant ecosystems, consumer platforms, AI capabilities, and international expansion. The company is evolving into an AI-first financial infrastructure and transaction intelligence platform. The strategic direction emphasizes value creation through transaction intelligence, AI-led automation, and intelligent financial ecosystems, moving beyond traditional transaction processing scale.

The company’s ecosystem now spans enterprise merchant acquiring, consumer engagement platforms, AI orchestration layers, regulatory infrastructure, cross-border capabilities, and embedded finance opportunities. These are increasingly reinforcing each other structurally.

Focus on Embedded Finance and Lending

A key strategic priority is embedded finance and lending. AvenuesAI aims to build an intelligent lending orchestration and distribution ecosystem leveraging its payment infrastructure, merchant data, transaction intelligence, and AI-led underwriting capabilities. This approach is asset-light, aiming to avoid becoming a traditional balance sheet lender.

Strategic investments in entities like Online PSB Loans and Ratnaafin are designed to strengthen participation in lending distribution and credit intelligence without taking on significant balance sheet risk.

AI as a Foundational Element

Artificial intelligence is considered foundational to the company’s transformation. AvenuesAI is embedding AI directly into its operating architecture, shaping commerce, payments, financial workflows, customer service, risk assessment, and transaction execution. The company’s AI platforms include initiatives with IAIRO and the development of CommerceAI and PayCentral.

The company is positioning itself for Al-native commerce and agentic financial ecosystems, where machine-assisted and machine-executed workflows will be prevalent.

International Expansion and Rediff Ecosystem

International expansion remains a strategic pillar, with the United States identified as a key focus area. The company is also optimistic about the strategic importance of the Rediff ecosystem, which is evolving into a broader consumer engagement and financial participation layer. Over time, efforts will be made to expand RediffOne and Rediffpay into areas including payments, financial engagement, wealth, and commerce.

The company’s growth strategy is described as infrastructure-led, intelligence-led, and ecosystem-led, aiming for durable long-term operating leverage rather than short-term expansion at the cost of sustainability.

Outlook for FY27

Looking ahead to FY ’27, AvenuesAI anticipates entering the next phase of its evolution, where scale, intelligence, monetization, lending, AI orchestration, international expansion, and ecosystem integration will reinforce each other more visibly. The company expects a period of profitable growth, with AI-led automation and ecosystem monetization being key drivers.

Addressing Questions on Key Areas

During the Q&A, management clarified that AvenuesAI will not be putting its balance sheet for lending but will selectively invest minority stakes in NBFCs. They also discussed the growth drivers in the payment business, emphasizing customization and the platform plus payments approach, particularly in the hospitality sector. Regarding profitability, it was noted that costs are front-loaded due to AI investments, but operating leverage is expected to kick in with scale.

The company confirmed filing a confidential DRHP for Rediff and stated that while the platform business has been flat to slightly higher, more activities are expected in FY ’27 due to AI-first reworks and integration with payments. The focus on embedded finance and AI orchestration was reiterated as areas for long-term profit pool emergence.

On AI adoption, management acknowledged that while enterprise adoption has been slow, AvenuesAI is embedding AI across its platforms as a driver for efficiency, risk management, and operating leverage. The company is focusing on building algorithms and data capabilities to leverage AI within its ecosystem.

Regarding the investment in XDuce, it was clarified that the participation is through shares of associates, based in the United States, and does not directly appear on the balance sheet. This investment is seen as a step towards expanding international payments in the US. Management also indicated that enterprise AI adoption is slow but believes it is a bet worth making.
