Passenger Vehicle Segment Performance
The passenger vehicle segment saw a notable rise, with a total of 226,100 vehicles produced in May 2026, up from 193,466 units in May 2025. This segment is further broken down as follows:
- Mini segment (Alto, S-Presso): 18,656 units in May 2026, compared to 10,186 units in May 2025.
- Compact segment (Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR, OEM Model): 95,337 units in May 2026, an increase from 90,001 units in May 2025.
- Passenger Cars Sub-total: 113,993 units in May 2026, up from 100,187 units in May 2025.
- Utility Vehicles (Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Jimny, Victoris, XL6, OEM Models): 98,694 units in May 2026, a significant increase from 78,873 units in May 2025.
- Vans (Eeco): 13,413 units in May 2026, down from 14,406 units in May 2025.
Light Commercial Vehicles
Production for light commercial vehicles, specifically the Super Carry model, was 3,941 units in May 2026, an increase from 2,416 units in May 2025.
