Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (CFCL) announced the commencement of production for Weak Nitric Acid (WNA), an intermediate product for their Technical Ammonium Nitrate project. Production of Ammonium Nitrate Solution (ANS) and prilled High Density Ammonium Nitrate (HDAN) is also expected to begin soon. This marks a significant step in CFCL’s expansion at its Gadepan site in Rajasthan, reinforcing its manufacturing capabilities.
Production Milestone Achieved
Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (CFCL) has reached a significant production milestone. In a communication dated June 1, 2026, the company confirmed that the production of Weak Nitric Acid (WNA) has commenced. This WNA is an essential intermediate product for the company’s ongoing project to establish a plant for manufacturing Technical Ammonium Nitrate.
Project Expansion Underway
This development is a direct continuation of CFCL’s previously announced project to set up integrated facilities at its existing site in Gadepan, District Kota, Rajasthan. The project encompasses not only the Technical Ammonium Nitrate plant but also a dedicated plant for manufacturing Weak Nitric Acid. The company has been providing updates on this initiative through its earlier communications, with the latest update referencing letters dated April 5, 2023, January 22, 2025, January 16, 2026, and April 29, 2026.
Future Production Phases
Following the successful initiation of WNA production, CFCL has further informed stakeholders that the production of Ammonium Nitrate Solution (ANS) and the final product, prilled High Density Ammonium Nitrate (HDAN), are expected to commence in due course. This phased approach to production signifies the comprehensive development and operationalization of the new manufacturing capabilities at the Gadepan facility.
