Larsen & Toubro’s GeoStructure business has secured multiple significant orders across India. These include the company’s largest-ever piling order from JSW Utkal Steel for a new integrated steel plant, two orders from the Inland Waterways Authority of India for ship repair facilities, and the construction of India’s first yacht marina at Mumbai Harbour. These wins highlight L&T’s diverse capabilities and its role in advancing India’s infrastructure and maritime ambitions.

L&T GeoStructure Secures Major Orders

L&T GeoStructure, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has announced the recent securing of several substantial orders within India. This announcement, dated May 26, 2026, details a series of important projects that underscore the business’s strong performance and market position.

Largest Piling Order from JSW Utkal Steel

The company has received its largest-ever piling order from JSW Utkal Steel Ltd, a subsidiary of JSW Steel. This project is for the new 10 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant at Paradeep, Odisha. The scope involves critical structures and extensive piling works, with approximately 30 lakh running metres of piling to be executed under a stringent timeline.

Inland Waterways Infrastructure Development

Additionally, L&T GeoStructure has secured two separate orders from the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI). These contracts are for the engineering, procurement, and construction of Ship Repair Facilities (SRF) at Patna and Varanasi. The state-of-the-art SRFs will feature advanced Ship Lift and Transfer Systems, including an 800-tonne boat hoist, aimed at enhancing the repair and maintenance capabilities for inland vessels. These projects are expected to significantly boost the inland water transport ecosystem along National Waterway-1 (River Ganga).

India’s First Yacht Marina at Mumbai Harbour

In another significant development, L&T has been awarded the contract to construct India’s first yacht marina at Mumbai Harbour. Awarded by the Mumbai Port Authority, this project will include an approach trestle, piled breakwater, service platforms, concrete pontoons, and gangways designed for safe and efficient yacht operations. This initiative is anticipated to position Mumbai as a global maritime tourism hub and contribute to India’s blue economy objectives.

Order Classification and Background

The orders secured fall under various classification categories, with the JSW Utkal Steel project being classified as ‘Mega’ (₹10,000 to ₹15,000 crore, though specific value not detailed for this order). Larsen & Toubro continues to be a prominent Indian multinational engaged in EPC Projects, Hi-Tech Manufacturing, Products, and Services, operating globally with a strong focus on technology and customer satisfaction.
