Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant mandate to modernize rail infrastructure for the West Central Railway. The project focuses on the design, modification, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 132kV/55kV Scott connected Traction Sub Station along with switching posts. This work is to be carried out in the section between Itarsi (Excl.) and Shridham (Incl.) within the Jabalpur Division.
Strategic Objectives
The primary objective of this initiative is the up-gradation of the Electric Traction System from 1x25kV to 2×25 kV. This technical enhancement is critical for the railway network to successfully meet its 3000 MT (Million Tonnes) loading target, thereby increasing operational efficiency and freight capacity.

The total cost for this contract is valued at ₹244,32,90,181.97, inclusive of applicable taxes. The company is committed to executing the entirety of the project over a period of 18 months. RVNL confirmed that this contract falls within the normal course of business, marking another strategic win for the company in its mission to support Indian Railways’ modernization efforts.
