Biocon Limited Important Reminder Regarding Unclaimed Dividends and Share Transfers

Biocon Limited is urging shareholders who have not encashed dividends for seven consecutive years to claim their funds immediately. Failure to act by August 20, 2026, will result in the mandatory transfer of both the unpaid dividend amounts and the underlying equity shares to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF). Shareholders are encouraged to update their banking and contact information promptly to avoid these transfers.

Action Required for Shareholders

The company has identified a list of shareholders who have not encashed their final dividend payments starting from the financial year 2018-19. Under statutory requirements, dividends remaining unclaimed for seven years must be moved to the government-managed IEPF. Crucially, the shares associated with these unclaimed dividends are also subject to transfer if they remain inactive for this period.

Deadline for Claims

Shareholders must take necessary action to claim their dues on or before August 20, 2026. Claims submitted after this date will be subject to a more complex recovery process through the IEPF authority. The company confirms that no dividends were declared during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 financial years, and all dues prior to 2017-18 have already been transferred to the fund.

How to Claim Your Shares and Dividends

The process for reclaiming your assets depends on how your shares are held:

  • Electronic/Dematerialized Form: Submit a copy of your updated Client Master List, your PAN card, and a cancelled cheque to the company’s Registrar and Share Transfer Agent.
  • Physical Form: Complete the mandatory Investor Service Request Forms (ISR-1 and ISR-2) and provide a cancelled cheque leaf with your name as the account holder.

For those holding original dividend warrants, these should be submitted alongside the required documentation to facilitate a direct bank transfer. If warrants are lost or untraceable, shareholders should contact the registrar immediately via email to initiate the recovery process.
