J.K. Cement Limited has officially received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from the Government of Madhya Pradesh for the mining lease of the Itauri-Jharkua Limestone Block. Located in the Panna district, the site covers an expansive area of 349.709 hectares. This development follows the company’s previous selection as the ‘Preferred Bidder’ in March 2026, marking a significant milestone in the firm’s resource acquisition strategy and future operational expansion.
Strategic Mining Expansion
Following its successful bid earlier this year, J.K. Cement Limited has reached a critical stage in the development of the Itauri-Jharkua Limestone Block. The company confirmed receipt of the formal Letter of Intent on May 19, 2026. This milestone grant allows the company to move forward with the necessary procedures for commencing limestone extraction in the region.
Project Location and Scale
The newly acquired mining area is situated across the villages of Itauri and Jharkua within the Amanganj tehsil of Panna district, Madhya Pradesh. The total lease area spans 349.709 hectares, providing the company with a substantial resource base to support its long-term manufacturing capabilities and supply chain security. This acquisition is a key component of the company’s efforts to bolster its limestone reserves in central India.
