The company achieved a standalone net profit of ₹23,303.22 crore for the year, compared to ₹13,275.26 crore in the previous fiscal. For the fourth quarter (Jan-Mar 2026), the company posted a standalone net profit of ₹3,191.49 crore. The Board of Directors approved these audited results at their meeting held on May 19, 2026.

For the financial year ended March 31, 2026, BPCL reported a significant growth in total income, reaching ₹5,26,421.53 crore on a standalone basis, up from ₹5,03,457.45 crore in the previous year. The standalone net profit for the year surged to ₹23,303.22 crore, reflecting a strong operational recovery and efficient performance. The company’s basic earnings per share (EPS) for the full year stood at ₹54.54.
Consolidated Performance and Segments
On a consolidated basis, BPCL reported a net profit of ₹25,843.45 crore for the financial year 2025-26. The company’s segment-wise information reveals that the Downstream Petroleum segment continues to be the primary revenue driver, contributing ₹5,22,668.25 crore to the total revenue for the year. The Exploration & Production of Hydrocarbons segment also contributed ₹152.16 crore to the annual revenue.
Operational Milestones
Operational metrics remained steady throughout the year. The company recorded a total refinery throughput of 41.15 MMT for the fiscal year. Domestic market sales growth reached 3.40%, with total domestic sales touching 54.18 MMT. The company also managed a consistent export volume of 1.54 MMT for the year ending March 31, 2026.
Strategic Impairment and Investments
During the fiscal year 2025-26, the company recognized an impairment loss of ₹4,349.13 crore regarding its equity investment in its wholly owned upstream subsidiary, Bharat PetroResources Limited (BPRL). This decision follows a comprehensive review of assets and a change in the prospects of BPRL’s oil and gas blocks. The accumulated impairment loss on investments in BPRL now stands at ₹11,313.83 crore.
