Eicher Motors Royal Enfield Announces Strategic Expansion in Andhra Pradesh

Royal Enfield, a division of Eicher Motors Limited, has announced plans to establish a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Tada, Andhra Pradesh. The company intends to invest approximately ₹2,500 crores into this expansion to support its long-term growth trajectory. This strategic move follows a recent ₹958 crores investment in Tamil Nadu, aiming to bolster the company’s production capacity as it continues to see strong demand for its mid-size motorcycles.

Strategic Manufacturing Expansion

Royal Enfield, the global leader in the 250cc-750cc motorcycle segment, is set to significantly scale its manufacturing footprint. The company has identified Tada, Andhra Pradesh as the location for its latest greenfield project. Pending final board approval, the investment of ₹2,500 crores will be deployed in a phased manner, ensuring production capacity remains aligned with market demand and the company’s forward-looking growth strategies.

Scaling Production Capabilities

This initiative comes at a time of high operational efficiency, with current annual capacity at 14.6 lakh units near full utilization. Building upon the ₹958 crores investment announced in February 2026 for a facility in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, these combined efforts are projected to push total capacity to 20 lakh units. B. Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. and CEO of Royal Enfield, emphasized that this move is essential to maintaining the brand’s momentum and delivering the best products to its global community.

Growth and Market Position

Royal Enfield has maintained a strong performance trajectory, delivering over 1.2 million motorcycles in FY’26, marking the second consecutive year of crossing the one-million unit milestone. Beyond its manufacturing prowess, the brand continues to excel in market perception, having secured the top rank in the 2025 J.D. Power India initial quality study and leading the FADA Dealer Satisfaction Survey. These achievements, combined with a presence in over 80 countries, underscore Royal Enfield’s status as a dominant global Indian brand.
