Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited Commissioning of 7th MV/EHV Cable Production Line

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has successfully commissioned its 7th Medium Voltage (MV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) cable production line at its Vadodara facility. Utilizing advanced Continuous Catenary Vulcanisation (CCV) technology, the company is bolstering its manufacturing capabilities to meet surging demand from renewable energy, infrastructure, and urban power projects. With three additional lines expected to be operational by March 31, 2027, the firm is well-positioned for long-term growth.

Expanding Manufacturing Capabilities

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL) has achieved a significant milestone in its technology upgradation program with the launch of its 7th MV/EHV production line. By integrating Continuous Catenary Vulcanisation (CCV) technology, the company aims to enhance the production of high-quality XLPE power cables, which are essential for modernizing India’s power grids and supporting industrial electrification.

Strategic Growth and Future Outlook

The company is actively scaling its operations to address the multi-decade investment cycle in global power infrastructure. According to Ms. Nivedita Pandya, Vice President, Engineering and Projects, the company is preparing for future demand by ensuring three additional production lines are installed and commissioned by March 31, 2027. This expansion is designed to support high-growth sectors, including renewable energy generation, metro rail, data centres, and smart city infrastructure.

Advantages of Advanced CCV Technology

The implementation of CCV technology provides several technical advantages, including:

  • Superior Insulation Quality: Ensures uniform cross-linking and improved dielectric strength for long-term reliability.
  • Lower Partial Discharge Levels: Minimizes defects to ensure optimal performance in high-voltage environments.
  • Enhanced Durability: Provides better electrical stress handling and thermal stability, contributing to a longer service life for power cables.
  • Process Excellence: Advanced automation leads to higher manufacturing efficiency and strict compliance with international quality benchmarks.

Capitalizing on Industry Trends

The power cable sector is currently seeing sustained growth driven by rapid urbanization and the global transition toward green energy. Diamond Power notes that the market is increasingly favoring suppliers with robust technical capabilities and high-voltage expertise. As power utilities and developers shift toward 400 kV and beyond, the company’s focus on high-value, quality-compliant infrastructure positions it to capture a larger share of the evolving energy landscape.
