Hindustan Construction Company Q4 FY26 Financial Results and Strategic Outlook

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) reported a robust performance for FY26, marked by a 142% year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to ₹205.8 crore. The company achieved significant deleveraging, reducing debt by 38%, and maintains a strong order backlog of ₹12,971 crore. HCC continues to focus on its core expertise in transport, hydro power, and nuclear infrastructure, supported by a massive domestic infrastructure pipeline and a target order booking of ~₹15,000 crore for FY27.

Financial Highlights

For the financial year ended March 31, 2026, HCC demonstrated strong operational discipline. Standalone net profit rose to ₹205.8 crore, up from ₹84.9 crore in the previous fiscal year. The company’s focus on balance sheet strengthening resulted in a 38% reduction in debt to ₹1,995 crore, with further prepayments planned for FY27. While standalone turnover for FY26 was ₹3,937.3 crore, the company remains optimistic about its future growth, bolstered by a substantial pipeline of upcoming projects.

Robust Order Book and Pipeline

As of Q4 FY26, HCC holds an order backlog of ₹12,971 crore, well-diversified across key business lines: 67% in transport, 18% in hydro, 11% in water, and 3% in nuclear & buildings. The company has secured new orders worth ₹2,290 crore in the final quarter alone. Furthermore, the company is actively pursuing a massive bid pipeline, with ~₹25,760 crore under evaluation and an additional ~₹43,800 crore in planned bid submissions for Q1 FY27.

Strategic Sector Expertise

HCC continues to capitalize on India’s long-term infrastructure vision, reinforcing its status as a legacy player. The company accounts for 60% of India’s installed nuclear power capacity and 26% of installed hydro power capacity. Key ongoing projects demonstrate this technical prowess, including progress on the Indore and Patna Metro lines, the Agardanda Creek Bridge, and major hydro power ventures like Tehri PSP, Bhivpuri PSP, and the Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP. With significant national investments targeted toward high-speed rail, nuclear energy, and renewable capacity, HCC is well-positioned for sustained growth.
