NHPC Limited Update Regarding Change in Government Nominee Director

NHPC Limited has announced a transition within its leadership following the departure of Shri Mohammad Afzal. Formerly the Joint Secretary (Hydro) at the Ministry of Power, he served as a Government Nominee Director on the company’s Board. His association with the Ministry has concluded, leading to his automatic cessation from the Board in accordance with the company’s governance protocols. The company is currently awaiting a formal notification from the Ministry of Power regarding his successor.

Leadership Transition on the Board

NHPC Limited has officially confirmed a change in its board composition. Shri Mohammad Afzal, who previously represented the Ministry of Power as a Government Nominee Director, is no longer associated with the Ministry. Consequently, his tenure as a Director on the NHPC Board has come to an end, effective immediately based on public records.

Appointment Process for Successor

The company is currently awaiting formal communication from the Ministry of Power to finalize the appointment of a new Government Nominee Director.
