NTPC Group Solar Capacity Expands with New Project Commissioning

NTPC group has successfully commissioned two new solar power projects in Rajasthan, adding a combined capacity of 62.5 MW. These additions, undertaken through its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), bring the group’s total installed capacity to 89,868 MW and commercial capacity to 88,788 MW. These developments are effective from May 15, 2026, further strengthening the company’s renewable energy footprint in India.

Boosting Renewable Energy Capacity

NTPC Limited, through its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has announced the successful commercial operation of two significant solar power projects. These capacity additions, effective May 15, 2026, contribute to the company’s aggressive transition toward sustainable energy sources.

Details of Solar Project Additions

The newly commissioned capacities are as follows:

  • Project Eleven Renewable Power Private Limited: A second part capacity of 12.5 MW has been added, bringing the project’s cumulative capacity to 100 MW.
  • Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited: A second part capacity of 50 MW has been added, bringing the project’s cumulative capacity to 200 MW.

NTPC Group Performance Overview

Following these additions, the total installed capacity for the NTPC group has reached 89,868 MW. The total commercial capacity of the group now stands at 88,788 MW. Simultaneously, the specific commercial capacity under the NTPC Green Energy Limited group has increased to 10,453.90 MW, with the total installed capacity for the green subsidiary rising to 10,516.40 MW.
