JSW Energy Limited Reports Highest-Ever Annual Power Sales, EBITDA, and PAT

JSW Energy has reported its strongest financial performance to date, achieving record-breaking annual power sales, EBITDA, and profit after tax for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. Driven by strategic acquisitions, including the Mahanadi and O2 Power portfolios, the company saw a 58% year-on-year increase in power sales and an 81% surge in annual EBITDA. JSW Energy continues to execute its growth strategy, adding 2.6 GW of capacity during the year.

Record-Breaking Financial Results

For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026, JSW Energy achieved significant growth across all key metrics. The company reported annual revenue of ₹18,901.13 crore, with a profit after tax of ₹2,762.41 crore. The fourth quarter alone showed robust performance, with a 48% year-on-year increase in power sales volume and a 72% jump in quarterly EBITDA, reflecting the successful integration of newly acquired assets.

Strategic Growth and Operational Expansion

The company has successfully expanded its operational footprint, reaching a total installed capacity of 13.45 GW as of the end of the fiscal year. Key drivers included the full integration of the Mahanadi thermal power plant and the O2 Power portfolio. Additionally, the company commissioned its first 5.0 GWh battery assembly facility in Pune, marking a significant step in its vertical integration strategy. The company also secured control over critical railway infrastructure via the acquisition of Raigarh Champa Rail Infrastructure, further de-risking its key supply chains.

Dividend and Governance Updates

In recognition of the strong financial year, the Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of 20%, amounting to ₹2 per equity share, subject to approval at the upcoming 32nd Annual General Meeting. Furthermore, the company has reinforced its board structure through the re-appointment of Mr. Rajiv Chaudhri as an Independent Director for a second 5-year term, effective from July 14, 2026.

Future Outlook

JSW Energy remains firmly on track with its Strategy 3.0, aiming for a total power generation capacity of 30 GW by 2030. With a locked-in generation capacity of 32.1 GW and a healthy liquidity position featuring cash balances of ₹10,013 crore, the company is well-positioned for sustained growth. The company continues to advance its thermal and renewable pipelines, including the Salboni thermal project and ongoing hydro power developments in the Tidong valley.
