ABB India Leadership Transition Announced for 2027

ABB India has announced a key leadership transition effective January 1, 2027. Mr. TK Sridhar, the current Chief Financial Officer, will step into the role of Managing Director for a five-year term. Simultaneously, the current Managing Director, Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, will conclude his tenure on December 31, 2026, and will transition to a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director role on the Board for a two-year period to provide ongoing strategic guidance.

Leadership Succession Plan

The Board of Directors has unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. TK Sridhar as the new Managing Director, starting January 1, 2027. Mr. Sridhar brings over three decades of professional experience to the position, having played a pivotal role in the company’s financial discipline and strategic growth during his tenure as Chief Financial Officer. His appointment is aimed at maintaining institutional continuity and driving the company’s next phase of expansion.

Strategic Board Continuity

Current Managing Director Mr. Sanjeev Sharma will complete his successful term on December 31, 2026. To leverage his deep expertise and ensure a smooth transition, the company has appointed him as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director for a term of two years. Mr. Sharma, who has been instrumental in scaling ABB’s businesses across electrification and automation, will continue to provide strategic oversight and guidance at the Board level.

Shareholder Approval

Both leadership changes are subject to approval by shareholders. The company has formally initiated the process to seek these approvals via a Postal Ballot. These appointments underscore the company’s commitment to orderly succession planning and long-term value creation for all stakeholders.
