Gravita India Ltd. FY26 Financial Results and Strategic Acquisition of RMIL

Gravita India Ltd. has concluded FY26 on a strong growth trajectory, reporting a 10% increase in revenue and a 21% rise in PAT. The company marked a strategic milestone with the acquisition of a 99.44% stake in Rashtriya Metal Industries Limited (RMIL), facilitating its entry into the copper and copper alloys sector. Aligned with Vision 2030, the company continues to expand its recycling capacity and reinforce its focus on high-margin value-added products.

FY26 Financial Performance

Gravita India delivered robust operational and financial results for the year ended March 31, 2026. The company achieved a 5% YoY growth in volumes, while revenue grew by 10%. Profitability also saw significant momentum with a 21% increase in Profit After Tax (PAT), maintaining a healthy ROIC of approximately 24%. This performance was driven by an increased share of value-added products and expanded domestic scrap sourcing capabilities.

Strategic Acquisition in Copper Segment

A key highlight of the year was the strategic entry into the copper and copper alloys segment through the acquisition of a 99.44% stake in Rashtriya Metal Industries Limited (RMIL) for Rs. 561.84 crore. Founded in 1946, RMIL brings a strong manufacturing base in Sarigram, Gujarat, with a capacity of 31,200 MTPA. This acquisition is expected to provide significant synergies, including portfolio diversification, access to high-barrier segments like electrical and defense, and improved operational efficiencies through backward integration.

Capacity Expansion and Future Outlook

Gravita continues to execute its Vision 2030 growth strategy. During FY26, the company invested Rs. 372 crore in capex, including the commissioning of a 6,000 MTPA lithium-ion battery recycling plant at Mundra and the expansion of its lead recycling capacity to 1,45,100 MTPA. Looking ahead, the company has set ambitious targets, aiming for over 8,00,000 MTPA total capacity by FY2029. With a focus on volume growth, margin expansion, and sustainable operations, Gravita is positioned to maintain its global leadership in the recycling industry.
