Bharti Airtel has partnered with Swift Navigation to launch Airtel-Skylark™ Precise Positioning Service in India. This AI/ML-powered, cloud-based service offers centimetre-level location accuracy, up to 100x better than standard GNSS. It targets industries like automotive, mobile applications, and agriculture, improving services like advanced driver-assistance, navigation, and precision farming. The service will initially cover a 35,000 km² area around the National Capital Region (NCR).

Bharti Airtel has entered a strategic partnership with Swift Navigation to launch Airtel-Skylark™ Precise Positioning Service. This new service aims to provide significantly improved location accuracy for various applications across India. The official announcement was made on September 30, 2025.

Airtel-Skylark™ Precise Positioning Service is an AI/ML-powered, cloud-based location service that delivers centimetre-level accuracy. Compared to standard Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), this service improves accuracy by up to 100x. This enhanced precision is expected to enable a range of innovative, location-based applications.
Target Industries and Applications
The service targets industries including:
- Automotive & Transportation: Powering advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and fully-autonomous vehicles.
- Mobile & Consumer Applications: Transforming navigation and ride-sharing apps with highly accurate, real-time location data.
- Smart Tolling: Implementing seamless, barrier-free or lane-level tolling.
- Logistics & Last-Mile Delivery: Unlocking precise fleet management and route optimisation.
- Railways: Enabling enhanced safety and efficiency of rail operations.
- Agriculture: Powering precision agriculture through exact positioning.
Initial Rollout and Expansion
The initial phase of the service will launch a 35,000 km² network around the National Capital Region (NCR). Plans are in place to expand the network to other parts of the country soon after.
