Ather Energy Reports Breakthrough Growth in FY 26 with 69% Surge in Volume

Ather Energy has reported a landmark performance for FY 26, achieving a 69% year-on-year growth in total units sold, reaching 263,000 units. The company saw its total income rise to ₹3,823 crore, representing a 66% increase compared to the previous year. With an expanded network of 700 experience centres and a 17.4% market share, Ather continues to strengthen its leadership in the electric two-wheeler segment while actively working toward margin expansion and operational excellence.

Fiscal Year 2026 Financial Milestones

The company delivered a robust performance in the financial year ending March 31, 2026. Key highlights include a total revenue of ₹3,823 crore and an Adjusted Gross Margin of 24%, reflecting a 500 bps improvement year-on-year. Despite ongoing investments, the company successfully reduced its COGS per unit by 9%, driving the overall EBITDA margin to (6.7%), an improvement of 1,630 bps from the previous year.

Q4 Performance Highlights

During the final quarter (January-March 2026), Ather recorded 83,000 units sold, contributing to a total income of ₹1,214 crore. The quarter was characterized by significant market share gains, reaching 18.6% nationally. Ather’s efforts in network expansion were highly successful, with the company reaching a milestone of 700 experience centres, a 2x increase over the course of the year. Additionally, the brand solidified its digital presence, being the #1 searched EV brand during the quarter.

Strategic Growth and Operational Focus

Ather continues to innovate its product portfolio, notably with the launch of the High Range 450 and the Rizta scooter. The company’s focus on ecosystem development remains strong, with AtherStack 7.0 and a rapidly growing grid of 6,000+ charging points. Furthermore, the company is preparing for its next phase of growth with the development of Factory 3.0 in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. With an expected total capacity of 10 lakh units, the facility’s Phase-I is scheduled to commence in Q3 FY 27.

Advancing Technology and Market Standards

The company maintains a heavy focus on research and development, filing 283 patents in FY 26 alone, its highest ever. Ather is also spearheading industry-wide standardization through the LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) initiative, involving over 20 stakeholders to reduce network fragmentation and accelerate mass electric vehicle adoption across India.
