PB Fintech Paisabazaar Subsidiary Receives Income Tax Appeal Order

PB Fintech has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Paisabazaar Marketing and Consulting Private Limited, has received an order from the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals). The ruling confirms tax disallowances of ₹85.60 crore for FY 2022-23 and ₹60.31 crore for FY 2021-22. However, the authorities have acknowledged the validity of certain brought forward loss claims, and the company plans to contest the disallowances through the formal appeal process.

Details of the Tax Order

On April 30, 2026, the Office of the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) issued an order under Section 250 of the Income Tax Act concerning Paisabazaar. The order sustains previous disallowances made by the Assessing Officer, totaling ₹85.60 crore for FY 2022-23 and ₹60.31 crore for FY 2021-22. These figures stem from original assessments conducted in March and April of 2025.

Positive Developments on Tax Claims

Despite the disallowances, the order provided a favorable directive regarding brought forward losses. The Commissioner recognized that the subsidiary’s claims for setting off these losses—which were omitted from previous computation sheets—are prima facie correct. The Assessing Officer has been instructed to verify these claims and incorporate the necessary adjustments when recomputing the company’s total income.

Next Steps and Financial Outlook

PB Fintech maintains that there is no immediate financial impact resulting from this order. Because the decision is appealable under current tax laws, the company intends to initiate a formal appeal process in due course to challenge the confirmed disallowances. Management remains focused on the resolution of these tax matters while continuing its regular business operations.
