Eicher Motors has announced a strong start to the new financial year, with its Royal Enfield division selling 1,13,164 motorcycles in April 2026. This represents a 31% increase compared to the same period last year. The company continues its growth trajectory, bolstered by successful new product launches, international expansion, and a robust demand for its motorcycle portfolio both in domestic and global markets.
Strong Start to the Fiscal Year
Royal Enfield, a division of Eicher Motors, has sustained its positive momentum by reporting total sales of 1,13,164 units for the month of April 2026. This performance marks a significant 31% growth over the 86,559 units sold in April 2025. Domestic demand remains the primary driver, with 1,04,129 units sold, reflecting a robust 37% year-on-year growth in the home market.
Strategic Milestones and Innovations
The company achieved several key milestones this month, most notably its official entry into the electric vehicle space with the launch of the Flying Flea C6. This new motorcycle, part of the City+ electric mobility brand, is designed for urban riders and is now available in Bengaluru. Additionally, the brand’s international stature received a major boost, with Brand Finance naming Royal Enfield the third strongest automobile brand globally.
Product Portfolio Expansion
Royal Enfield continues to refresh its internal combustion engine lineup to maintain market appeal. The company recently expanded the Hunter 350 portfolio with a new Base Premium variant in Tarmac Black and fresh colour options. On the adventure front, the Himalayan 450 has cemented its status as the number one best-selling adventure motorcycle in its class in both India and Brazil, with annual global sales for the platform surpassing 38,000 units.
Global Market Presence
Despite a 14% decline in monthly export volumes to 9,035 units, the company remains focused on its global footprint. Recent successes include the Goan Classic 350 launch in Nepal and multiple awards for the Guerrilla 450 in Malaysia and Thailand. Royal Enfield is now preparing for the inaugural Himalayan Base Camp-Ladakh Edition, scheduled for September 4–6, 2026, further strengthening its community-led approach to the motorcycling experience.
