Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has officially appointed Shri Vivek Gupta as its new Director (Finance) & Chief Financial Officer (CFO). A 1997-batch Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer with extensive experience in finance and logistics, Mr. Gupta assumed the charge on April 21, 2026. He succeeds Shri Harish Chandra, who held the position of CFO.

Shri Vivek Gupta brings over 32 years of professional experience to the organization. He is an alumnus of IIT-BHU, Varanasi, and holds an MBA in Finance from BITS Pilani. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held significant roles in various Zonal Railways, focusing on finance, IT, business development, and general administration. Notably, his expertise spans multiple divisions, including Additional DRM at Izzatnagar and serving as FA&CAO in N.W. and N.C. Railways.
Career Highlights and Achievements
Mr. Gupta’s career is marked by several high-impact achievements, including the implementation of the Traffic Accounts Management System (TAMS). While serving as BDU Head, he spearheaded the development of the First Indian Railway Freight Terminal under the PPP policy at Bhopatpur in 2022. His notable financial contributions include finalizing a refinancing deal for a dollar-based World Bank loan during his tenure at DFCCIL, resulting in savings of more than ₹2,700 crore for the Government of India exchequer.
Industry Recognition
Throughout his service, Mr. Gupta has been a recipient of prestigious awards, including the National Award for Outstanding Service (MR Award) in 2009 for the successful integration of the Crew Management System with the payroll accounting network. Additionally, he received the GM Award for Best Innovation in 2015 for designing the ‘Railkarmi’ mobile application, which was subsequently adopted as a pan-India platform.
