Godrej Industries Limited Board Announces Leadership Transition and Strategic Board Appointments

Godrej Industries Limited has announced a significant leadership transition. Mr. Nadir Godrej will retire as Chairman and Managing Director effective August 13, 2026, and will transition to the role of Chairman Emeritus. Concurrently, Mr. Pirojsha Godrej has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Board, while Mr. Burjis Godrej joins the Board of Directors as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director, both effective August 14, 2026.

Leadership Succession Plan

Following a successful tenure, Mr. Nadir Godrej has expressed his intent to step down from his executive responsibilities as Chairman and Managing Director. His retirement will take effect at the close of business hours on August 13, 2026. In recognition of his multi-decade contribution to the group’s growth, the Board has appointed him as Chairman Emeritus, a position he will hold alongside Mr. Adi Godrej starting August 14, 2026.

New Board Appointments

The company has announced the appointment of Mr. Pirojsha Godrej as the Chairperson of the Board and the Chairperson of Godrej Industries Group, effective August 14, 2026. He is currently designated as Chairperson-Designate to ensure a seamless leadership transition. Mr. Pirojsha Godrej brings extensive experience to the role, having previously led Godrej Properties to become a leader in the real estate sector and founding both Godrej Capital and Godrej Ventures.

Expanding Governance

Additionally, Mr. Burjis Godrej has been appointed as an Additional Director (Non-Executive, Non-Independent) on the Board, effective August 14, 2026. Mr. Burjis Godrej, who is part of the Promoter Group, previously served as an Executive Director of Godrej Agrovet Limited and has held leadership roles at Astec LifeSciences Limited. His appointment is subject to the approval of the company’s shareholders.
