Sona Comstar Achieving Major Production Milestones in Driveline Solutions

Sona Comstar has reached two major production milestones, successfully manufacturing 500 million differential gears and 10 million differential assemblies since its inception. These achievements underscore the company’s sustained growth and its expanding global footprint in the mobility sector, driven by strong demand across both conventional and electric vehicle platforms. The company continues to strengthen its leadership as a key provider of precision-forged driveline components to global original equipment manufacturers.

Significant Manufacturing Milestones

On April 7, 2026, Sona Comstar announced the attainment of two critical production figures. Having begun operations in 1999 at its Gurugram facility, the company has scaled its capabilities to produce 500 million differential gears and 10 million differential assemblies. This growth reflects the company’s increasing influence in the global market, with an estimated 8.7% global market share in differential gears as of CY25, a significant rise from 4.5% in 2019.

Growth Trajectory and Strategic Expansion

The company’s production acceleration has been consistent over the last decade. While the first 100 million gears were achieved by 2013, the most recent 100 million units were produced in just the last two years. A similar growth story applies to its differential assembly business; after commencing production at its state-of-the-art Manesar plant in 2019, the company successfully reached the 5 million milestone by 2023, and has doubled that figure in less than three years.

Commitment to Innovation

Mr. Vivek Vikram Singh, Group CEO, attributed these milestones to the company’s commitment to engineering excellence and the trust of its global customer base. Sona Comstar remains focused on expanding its integrated driveline capabilities, supporting both traditional and electric mobility platforms as the industry evolves. The company continues to leverage its strong R&D and engineering footprint across India, the USA, Serbia, Mexico, and China to meet the growing technological requirements of its partners.
