Hindustan Zinc Reports Record Production for Fourth Quarter and FY 2026

Hindustan Zinc has announced its production results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2026. The company achieved its best-ever annual mined metal production of 1,114 kt and a record quarterly refined metal output of 282 kt. This strong performance was driven by higher ore production, better metal grades, and successful debottlenecking projects across its major facilities, reinforcing its position as a leading global integrated zinc producer.

Record-Breaking Production Metrics

Hindustan Zinc has concluded the fiscal year 2026 with significant production milestones. The company reported its highest-ever annual mined metal production at 1,114 kt, marking a 2% growth compared to the previous year. For the final quarter (Jan-Mar 2026), the company reached a record output of 315 kt of mined metal and 282 kt of refined metal, reflecting a 5% increase over the preceding quarter.

Operational Drivers and Efficiency

The stellar performance during the fourth quarter was largely supported by improved operational efficiencies and the successful debottlenecking of plants at Chanderiya and Dariba. These initiatives unlocked additional capacity, allowing the firm to maximize output. Furthermore, the commissioning of the 160 ktpa roaster and the utilization of Pyro operations on a zinc-lead mode throughout the year were instrumental in achieving a refined zinc production total of 851 kt, a 3% increase year-on-year.

Segment Performance Overview

While zinc production saw growth, refined lead production for the year stood at 197 kt. Silver production for the fiscal year reached 627 metric tonnes, with quarterly output at 176 metric tonnes. The company’s wind power generation also showed positive momentum, contributing 372 MU for the fiscal year, representing a 7% growth, which remains consistent with regional wind velocity trends.
