Ola Electric Roadster 9.1 Price Cut by ₹60,000 Amid Rising Demand

Ola Electric has announced a major price reduction for its flagship Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh electric motorcycle, lowering the price to ₹1,29,999 from ₹1,89,999. The move is fueled by economies of scale in 4680 Bharat Cell production and strong demand, which surged 5X during the #EndICEAge campaign. To manage supply, the company is shifting to a limited purchase window model, with the first window opening on April 3, 2026.

Strategic Price Reduction

In a move to make long-range electric mobility more accessible, Ola Electric is passing on significant cost savings to its customers. The flagship Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh, previously priced at ₹1,89,999, will now be available for ₹1,29,999. This price adjustment follows the company’s success in scaling the production of its indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell at its Gigafactory.

Transition to Limited Purchase Windows

Due to demand far exceeding current supply—notably a 5X surge during the recent #EndICEAge campaign—Ola Electric is moving away from open sales. The vehicle will now be sold through time-bound, limited purchase windows. The first opportunity for customers to book the motorcycle will be on Friday, April 3, 2026, between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Scaling Production and Market Performance

The company is accelerating the expansion of its Gigafactory toward a capacity of 6 GWh to further drive down costs through vertical integration. This production ramp-up coincides with a strong business resurgence; in March, the company reported over 150% month-on-month growth in registrations, reaching 10,117 units. With daily orders surpassing 1,000 units toward the end of March, the company is positioning itself for sustained growth in the Indian EV market.
