The total contested refund amount stands at ₹36,90,78,517, which includes ₹5,16,77,444 for the period of October to November 2018 and ₹31,74,01,073 for the period between April 2019 and September 2021. Additionally, the department has sought penalties amounting to ₹51,67,744 and ₹3,17,40,107 for these respective periods.
