EaseMyTrip has announced a strategic partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Sanatan AI to formalize India’s spiritual economy. The initiative, dubbed ‘1 Panchayat – 1 Pandit – SANATANAI Shop on Wheels by EMT’, aims to empower local entrepreneurs through a mobile, EV-based franchise model. Over the next five years, the company plans to deploy these units across 2 lakh Panchayats, integrating travel and pilgrimage services into rural markets.
Empowering Rural Spiritual Entrepreneurship
As part of this initiative, EaseMyTrip is driving a structured model to turn local Pandits, Pujaris, and trained youth into certified micro-entrepreneurs. By utilizing mobile, EV-based ‘Shop on Wheels’ units, the company intends to create a localized commerce hub at the Panchayat level. These units will offer comprehensive services, including pooja bookings, access to pooja samagri, and facilitation of spiritual events like kathas and jagrans.
Strategic Travel Integration
A core component of this collaboration is the integration of EaseMyTrip’s extensive travel distribution network. The company will enable religious and pilgrimage travel services directly through this decentralized, franchise-led framework. This move is designed to simplify travel planning for rural and semi-urban communities while significantly expanding EaseMyTrip’s footprint in the growing spiritual tourism segment.
Scaling the Initiative
The program is built on a five-year deployment plan targeting up to 2 lakh Panchayats across India. To ensure the success of these micro-entrepreneurs, the initiative will leverage institutional training frameworks and a MUDRA-linked financing system. This approach not only promotes financial inclusion and skill development but also establishes a scalable, standard-based ecosystem for spiritual services in traditionally underserved markets.
