NTPC Green Energy Limited Signs MoU with PTC India for Renewable Energy Power Sale Collaboration

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PTC India Limited on March 31, 2026. This collaboration aims to explore potential avenues for the sale of Renewable Energy (RE) power from NGEL to PTC India. The agreement covers potential sales through bilateral arrangements and various other market mechanisms, furthering India’s green energy transition goals.

Strategic Partnership for Renewable Energy Sales

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), which operates as a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, announced a significant step in renewable energy commercialization by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PTC India Limited. The agreement was formalized on 31st March 2026.

Focus on Power Purchase Exploration

The core purpose of this MoU is to proactively explore the possibilities for the sale of Renewable Energy (RE) power generated by NGEL to PTC India Limited. The parties will evaluate potential frameworks for these transactions, focusing on both bilateral arrangements and engagement through other market mechanisms available in the power sector.

Execution of the Agreement

The formal signing ceremony was highlighted by the presence of senior leadership from both entities. The MoU was executed by Sh. Sarit Maheshwari, CEO of NGEL, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Jhawar, CMD of PTC India Limited. The signing took place in the presence of other senior officials, underscoring the importance of this strategic alignment.
