PTC Industries Aerolloy Completes Installation of Advanced 5100 Tonne Open Die Forging System for Aerospace Materials

Aerolloy Technologies, a subsidiary of PTC Industries, has successfully completed the installation and trials of its 4500/5100 Tonne Intelligent Open Die Forging System in Lucknow as of March 31, 2026. This system is capable of forging critical materials like Titanium and Superalloys for aerospace and defense. This milestone achieves a rare global trifecta: melting, casting, and forging capabilities integrated under one roof, significantly boosting India’s self-reliance in advanced materials manufacturing.

Transformational Expansion in Aerospace Manufacturing

Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries, announced the successful completion of installation and hot/cold trials for its 4500/5100 Tonne Intelligent Open Die Forging System. This installation took place at the Strategic Materials Technology Complex (SMTC) in the UP Defence Industrial Corridor in Lucknow.

The new forging system represents a transformational expansion for Aerolloy’s manufacturing ecosystem, enhancing indigenous capability in critical aerospace manufacturing. It is engineered to handle Titanium, Superalloys, and advanced high-performance alloys, producing indispensable components for next-generation aeroengines, defense platforms, and space systems.

Key Strategic Highlights

The announcement highlighted several key strategic benefits:

  • Strategic Capability: Installation and successful trials of the advanced forging system mark a major addition to the manufacturing ecosystem.
  • Strategic Breadth: The press enables forging of crucial alloys required for next-generation aerospace and defense applications.
  • End-to-End Integration: This addition closes the loop, allowing PTC and Aerolloy to command a fully integrated supply chain encompassing melting (VIM), casting (VAR), and now forging.
  • Market Opportunity: The move targets the global market for forged Titanium and Superalloy components, valued in billions of dollars.
  • Import Substitution: The capability directly strengthens India’s self-reliance in critical forged aerospace materials.

Achieving a Global Trifecta

This milestone is critically important as it completes a globally rare trifecta: melting, casting, and forging all under one roof. Combined with the recently commissioned Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) furnace and Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) 400 furnace, Aerolloy and PTC now offer one of the most comprehensive aerospace material-to-component supply chains globally.

Leadership Vision

Mr. Sachin Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of PTC Industries, stated that this achievement is a landmark moment for India’s aerospace and defense manufacturing ecosystem. He emphasized that:

With this forging press, we now extend that capability further closing the loop from melting and casting to forging, in Titanium, Superalloys, and advanced high-performance alloys. This is the kind of end-to-end integration that defines a global-class aerospace supply chain. More importantly, every ton forged here reduces India’s dependence on imported aerospace-grade forgings.

The integration is expected to create efficiency, cost competitiveness, supply chain resilience, and unmatched quality control for global customers, positioning Aerolloy as a single, trusted source for complex materials.
