Premier Energies Commissions 5.6 GW Solar Facility, Surpasses 11 GW Total Module Capacity

Premier Energies Limited has successfully commissioned a new 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Seetharampur, Telangana. This strategic expansion brings the company’s total solar module capacity to 11.1 GW, solidifying its position as one of India’s largest solar manufacturers. The high-tech plant features advanced automation, AI-powered fault detection, and utilizes G12R TOPCon 0BB panels to deliver superior energy yield and durability for domestic and global markets.

Premier Energies Reaches 11.1 GW Manufacturing Milestone

On March 30, 2026, Premier Energies Limited announced the commissioning of its new, highly advanced 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility located at Seetharampur, Telangana. Trial production has already commenced at this facility, which spans 75 acres and is projected to create approximately 2,000 local jobs, significantly boosting the regional clean energy ecosystem.

This capacity addition elevates Premier Energies’ total solar module manufacturing capability to 11.1 GW. The company emphasizes that this milestone strengthens its ability to serve both the domestic Indian market and international customers effectively.

Advanced Technology Integration

The new production line is characterized by high levels of automation, capable of producing four G12R TOPCon high-efficiency modules every 16 seconds. Key technological features include:

  • AI-powered fault detection for real-time defect identification and correction, ensuring consistent quality.
  • Integration of TOPCon technology combined with Zero Busbar architecture.
  • Delivery of modules featuring higher energy yield, reduced optical losses, and improved durability.

Strategic Vision for Integrated Growth

Mr. Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director of Premier Energies, stated that the commissioning is a vital step toward achieving a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem. The company is focusing on scaling across the value chain, stretching from ingots all the way to modules.

Mr. Sudhir Reddy, Chief Strategy Officer, added that the investment in advanced domestic capabilities aligns with India’s renewable energy ambitions, enhancing supply chain resilience while meeting the escalating global demand for high-efficiency solar solutions.

Premier Energies is highlighted as one of India’s largest integrated solar manufacturers. The company is currently executing a ₹12,500 crore capital expenditure program over three years. This substantial investment aims to more than double its existing solar manufacturing capacity and includes expanding backward integration into ingots and wafers. Furthermore, the diversification strategy encompasses new segments, including inverters, transformers, and battery systems.
