ONGC Announces Key Project Milestone

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has announced the achievement of a significant milestone for the Daman Upside Development Project (DUDP). This critical development, located in the western offshore area approximately 180 Kms north west of Mumbai, has officially commenced gas monetisation as of March 29, 2026.

DUDP Project Scale and Success

The DUDP represents a substantial investment, involving a Capital Expenditure (Capex) of about USD 1 billion. The milestone was reached through the successful flowing of gas from Platform B-12-24P. Following commissioning, gas is now successfully being sent to the Hazira Plant.

Execution and Future Outlook

The project execution has been notably swift, completed in less than two years from the date of award. This rapid completion is attributed to strong project execution, innovative use of the Drill-Deck technology, and robust performance by the drilling and Production teams. This commencement of gas monetisation marks a crucial phase, with production from all associated wells scheduled to be ramped up in a phased manner going forward.
